Mark, a local rider, brought his new dog trailer over today. It was custom make for his pup Buddy. Of course Rufus and Ruby had to check it out and give it their seal of approval which they seem to have done straight away as you can see from the pictures. Hopefully when I get back from Sturgis Mark and Buddy and Rufus and Ruby and I will be able to take a ride together perhaps up to Hat Creek for a picnic and some swimming for the dogs....
Rufus and I leave for Sturgis this Saturday the 26th... yeehaa

Hog on the Humber
Well, I can't say I participated but I was there and enjoyed it none the less.
While we were in England we took a day to look at the Harley's gathered for the "Hog on the Humber" event. Arriving early we got to see them arrive in two's and three's until the large group arrived by crossing the Humber into the staging area. When all was said and done I would estimate three hundred bikes showed up.
The English are a pretty tame lot compared to, what else, the bikes you see at Sturgis.... Any way, we enjoyed talking with the riders, looking at the bikes and listening to them roar across the bridge...
If you don't know, the Humber is the worlds 5th largest suspension bridge with a main span of 4,626 feet

Rufus and I went on the HDForums Pacific Rally Saturday ride. Some 22 bikes showed up for the rally from all over the Western States.
We left Redding at 6AM in order to get to Mt. Shasta, fueled and ready to go by 8AM. When we got there it was a quick round of hellos and a cup of coffee and we were off.
The first stop of the day was at Burney Falls where Rufus and I got to meet some of the group by name. You could not have asked for friendlier people. While most everyone went to take a look at the falls Rufus and I went for a walk to stretch the legs a bit... It seemed like no sooner did I get Rufus in the trailer and we were off again, this time to Burney to pick up lunch for the group... It was a quick stop and before you could blink an eye we were off again. At Old Station we stopped for fuel and a little break were I got to meet some more of the group. then we pushed on to Manzanita lake for our lunch break.
The day was perfect for a ride, nice and cool, perhaps a breeze but not much... We took an hour for lunch at Manzanita Lake and socialized a bit and then we were off again... This part of the ride was a bit cool up to the peak parking lot for Lassen NP. Plenty of snow still left and some heavy cloud cover kept it pretty cool at the top... From there we went down to Sulphur Works for a quick look and then off down the mountain to Red Bluff where we stopped for fuel. Now it was getting warm and the jackets came off for the ride to Redding.
From Red Bluff it was a very quick and warm ride to Redding Harley Davidson where I said my goodbyes as I left the group and took Rufus home...
A very nice ride, 279 miles.
